You’ve booked your senior session, now what? Read about your full senior session experience from booking through to product delivery!
It’s absolutely normal to be scared, worried, confused (name the emotion) before your senior session. As a matter of fact, if you didn’t have some of these emotions, that would be abnormal. As your Massachusetts or New Hampshire senior photographer, I’m not just the person behind the camera; I’m your personal planner and assistant to guide you through every step of your senior experience. Let’s take a look at what you can expect.
STEP 1 – THE SENIOR QUESTIONNAIRE
As soon as a senior books their session, I send out a senior questionnaire. This is an online form that asks questions to help me get to know a little bit about you before I take your photos. It’s a key piece of the senior experience. I want each and every client to have the photo session they are dreaming of, so I need information to help me plan. My questionnaire also asks for parental input because this session is a big deal for you too!!! This is your baby after all.
Don’t worry, the questions aren’t hard! 🙂 But I really do want to get to know you so that I can tell your story. This is where you will tell me about yourself, your personality, your style. You’ll get to share any and all ideas you might have for your photo session. Don’t hold back! The more you share, the more I will be able to plan the perfect senior session experience for you!
STEP 2 – THE SENIOR HUB
At the same time as you receive the senior questionnaire, I will send you a link to the exclusive PHP Senior Hub. The Hub is full of helpful information to help you get ready for your session. It is THE PLACE to learn all about your senior session experience.
This is going to be your most visited page for the foreseeable future.
It is FILLED with all sorts of great information including my Session Prep guide, my Locations Guide, and A What To Wear Guide, including an online shopping guide with mood boards and live shopping links, designed by an actual stylist!!!
STEP 3 – THE WARDROBE CONSULTATION
This sounds really formal, but it doesn’t need to be. It can be as easy as you sending me photos of things you’re considering, or I can meet you in person or via FaceTime, and together, we’ll go through all of your options to pick the very best items. I will make sure your outfits work for the locations you’ve chosen and help you finalize the look with the right accessories and shoes.
STEP 4 – REMINDER EMAIL/TEXT
The day before your session, I will send out an email and text with reminders about what to bring, where to meet and more!! Checking in with you before your senior session is another tiny way to help you feel comfortable and prepared for your session. It’s the perfect time to ask any last-minute questions and for us both to share how excited we are to take your photos!
STEP 5 – IT’S PHOTO DAY!!
The day is finally here! If your session includes hair and makeup, we’ll first meet with the hair and makeup artist to get your photo ready! Be sure to arrive in comfy clothes and bring all your outfits, accessories, props, etc. for your session. I will meet you there and hang out throughout the process to ensure you get the look you want for your hair and makeup. When hair and makeup is done, we head out to your first location where you will change into your first outfit.
If you chose a session without hair and makeup included, we will meet at our first location. It’s best to be dressed in something other than your first outfit to avoid nasty wrinkles from your seatbelt. No worries, I will have my changing tent available for you so no need to be trying to change in your car!
I will guide you through everything and show you how to pose, how to move and what to do with your hands. You don’t have to be nervous or wonder what happens next. I’ll be there to guide you and make is feel easy and effortless. I’ll make sure you are having the best senior session experience possible while creating photos that showcase you and your personality.
STEP 6 – AFTER THE SESSION
After your session, we will set up your image reveal and ordering session in approximately two to three weeks. During that time, I will be editing your photos and getting them ready for you see.
During the image reveal and ordering session, you and your parent(s) will join me to watch a slideshow of the final images as well as go through each of them individually. We will take our time to go through a second time so you can choose your favorites. You’ll be able to see, touch and feel the products I offer, and I will help you decide what collections and products would work best for your needs.
Once you’ve chosen all your products, full payment is required and payment plans are available. When the final payment has been received, your products will be ordered, and you can expect to receive everything within four weeks of the order being paid in full.
During the entire process, my goal is to make you feel comfortable and guide you along the way. Your senior photo experience should be memorable and fun!
